You can try to get those really small guppy feeder fish and see if they chase bro..... Their mouth are not limited to just the tip, which led most to think they take boon or daphnias and the likes..... The mouth can open and snap, and yes, they feed like gars..... Just that they prefer to hunt for those sizes where they can gulp into their mouth fully in one shot..... Hence, you may want to do a stock count of the tank mates once in a while..... |

Dear Bros and Sis,
Unfortunate, the pipefish not survive past 3 weeks. Casualty may due to not enough feeding or disease. Now changing the scape to keep 2 normal discus . It's exciting as finally got the courage to try on discus. Read online need to feed beef heart but now only feed on Tetrabits. Hope can keep them well. Sad to know the loss of pipefish. I used to keep them for a couple of months. Mainly feeding on Baby brine shrimps and survival rate was high. It's very troublesome to keep due to its feeding needs.
Discus in planted tank, one of my favourite set up. nice tank you've got! ^^ I give the beef heart a miss as it tend to foul my tank very quickly. Water change is needed more regularly. After all, it's our husbandry that matters! Enjoy the process and learn!! More experience more knowledge, more knowledge more enjoyable process! That's the best thing you can gain from this hobby. I like the mix of fishes in your tank! |
