I'd go for:
3ft Top: Cichlids 3ft Bottom: Ranchu 2ft: Low-tech/maintenance Planted |

Then how? 6ft good or not? That time i got rid of my 5ft is because of space problem. Hence now max is only 3ft ... can't get bigger. But anyway, i think i should put my ranchus into that 3 ft on top tier. Below will be cichlids. Then got 1 spare 2ft. Maybe put tetras or rams. Then got gravels and low maintenance plants |

bro spawnie,
i will always support you. Really nice to have a supportive father and wife. I am in that same situation with bro moonshine. too much space but cannot put additional tank Quote:
Tetras are advised to keep together. (cardinal tetras, black neon tetras, lemon tetras, rummy nose tetras, some "mousey fish" ) I may be a novice in goldfish unlike all experts here, but used to have a 4 feet planted tank with tetras before. In my opinon, tetras should not be put below. Because tetras are peaceful and easy to be frightened by people walking past. I can't advise about cichlids...sorry! Seriously, I really admire people who have lotsa different fishes in their home. As in having various bio-types for different fishes. It is really a lot of work to keep and groom the fishes well. My max was like 30 over plecos + 50 over congo tetras spread in 3 tanks. At one time I was hit by two tanks of sick fishes. Nightmare!!! hahaha.. Lessons learnt now. Always under stock with oversized, over filterated, over aerated tank. Never be Slave to your hobby, Enjoy it!! |
