Can I use beads?
1) Plastic beads - those aunty use to do crafting.
2) Polypropylene beads - factory used for molding
3) Polyurethane beads - factory used for molding

Thanks

IMO, K1 media is not that costly.

If you use the beads, it may not rotate and in the end $$$ spent on the beads are wasted.

my 2 cents is that you use whatever material that is non-toxic and has good amount of pores in it.

Try straws, cut to wheel-like shape and experiment stuffing them with sponge or wool, to get to right amount of semi-buoyancy suitable with the power of your air pump.

Does this sort of BB require a dark enviro to cultivate better? If so, I was thinking of those 7Up bottles or Sprite botles to use. Does the container have to be round for better generation of the spiral movement? Thanks for any advice!

nope. dont need to be round. but look out for the number below the water bottle. number 5 is safe to use.

Was wondering, those bubble tea straws, cut to bout 1 cm thickness and stuffed with aquarium wool... Hmmm... Anyone thinks this will work? Colourful too!
