I have just got a 321 glass tank to house my son's 3 4" res. I have already constructed (via a plastic shop) a platform that includes a shallow ramp for them to crawl out of the water and onto dry land. My intention is to apply pebble-wash onto the acrylic to allow them more grip to crawl out. May I enquire if it is as straightforward as applying silicone, then paste small smooth gravel onto the entire surface? Or is there more considerations to note?
Appreciate your advices. |

I used exo terra. Not bad. Think also 100w or thereabouts. It's fine. Anyway my bulb died after about a year anyway they now have natural sunlight so it's fine.

heat lamp is used to increase their metabolism as they are cold blooded. Good for their weelbeing and boost immunity.
in my opinion if they receive a bit of sunlight, then you just provide heat lamp for basking will be sufficient. no need UVB.

60watt heat lamp is more than enough... also depend on distance of the lamp to basking area.
