Default How to differentiate spotted gar and florida gar?

Hi, i need some help in how to know whether its a spotted gar or florida gar as both looks the same. Thank you=)

For amateurs like us, it's pretty difficult and tricky to tell them apart. However, true spotted gars tend to have a comparatively longer snout than their more common counterparts. Also, they tend to be more slender than the florida gars. You can be assured though that those you find in the market commonly (and cheaply) are all florida gars, unless you get them from Aquahobby which carries them from time to time.
