No harm giving it a try bro, It's abit difficult to tell whether they r mature enough at your size as some have a fast growth rate n reaches this size very fast but still too young to mate especially for most male with faster growth rate. your female should be ready at this size. just my opinion. it will be better if you r able to have a bigger male say abt 10". That will be good. meanwhile can always give it a try.

Dont feel dishearten bro, my hypan always make me dishearten but after raising the few fries left it's worth the effort. Also quite hard to find confirm breeding pairs. Good luck in your next spawn
